I was looking around and found a 65W super actinic PC bulb @ bigals, Im running 2 actinic bulbs that J&L calls true actinic. SOOOO super actinic is going to be super blue, right? Any one seen one of these? And 1 more, how can I calculate how many gallons a tank is? Was cleaning out the basement and found a 12" x 6" x 8" tank. Thinking about starting a nano.

The equation is length times width times height this will give you your cubic feet and there are 6.25 gallons per cubic foot so you would multiply that by 6.25 that would give you a total of 2.3 gallons. It is necessary to change youe inches to feet and in your case it would be 1 foot by .5 by .75. Glad to help this site has givin me alot of help nice to give something back.

easier just to multiply dimesions in inches and divide by 231 to get volume in gallons.

It's easiest just to go here. http://www.greertank.com/tankcalc.htm

super actinic might be a different blue. I think "true actinic 03" is 420nm so it's blue/purple (like coralife), whereas "ultra blue" might be 470nm which is more blue (like hagen).
I prefer the BLUE actinic. :thumb:
maybe give "Tang" a PM, he said he found some that are dual bulbs, 1 420nm and one 470nm..I forget where he said he got them.
Yes - John is right I have the dual bulb from Coralife. I think it works fine with my 150 HQI bulb.
