I saw these a while ago and found the components too but was un impressed by how individual beams of blue and white/yellow light were cast into the water. But now I have found a supplier that I can get 50w "hybrid" multi chip LEDs from. The new LEDs would be the same size but have a 50/50 or 40/60 mix of 20000k and 445nm chips. The advantage to this is that each beam of light cast into the tank would be the same color and therefor the blue white shadowing would be avoided. I was planning on building two 40/60 pendants with 90 degree lens on each one for my 36" 50 gallon tank. At 24" of hight I should get 20"x20" coverage. I could supplement them with my current LED bar and or a couple T5 HO to reduce spotlighting and offer more spectrum. Does anyone have any thought about if this would work or not?
