Well,

Received my hot deal on a ozone generator from Jason . Appears to work very well . I have it plumbed into my TurboFloater 1000 Multi .

My concern is that , while it stills produces bubbles, it doesn't appear to be skimming anything anymore. Also, I believe I can smell what appears to be ozone.

Don't rightly know for sure. I have this unit set on the lowest setting as well. If I crank it up , my skimmer doesn't work at all, too much force.

Any ideas ?:but:

Brent

PS - How can you tell summer is over, I'm back on the board with a ton of questions.:frog:

I can't offer you a solution to your problem, but you might want to hold off with pumping your tank with ozone until you get a monitor or controller..bad things happen if your ORP reaches undersirable levels.. I'm not saying you will reach those levels, but if you do, you'll never know.

Hi Brent,

Just set the unit on the lowest setting. The smell thing is most likely the breaking down of waste (POOP). If your skimmer lid has holes in the top, stick a small charcol bag on top to filter the air. You will get a waste smell at the start.

ozone is very dangerous if used wrong, not just for your tank but you as well. I have been using it for over 5 years now and never had a problem. I have carbon on both the return water to my sump as well as the exhaust air from my collection cup. I am also running an ORP controller to keep everything in check.
