I recently got back from my honeymoon in Maui and have some pics that I'd like to share. I was there for 10 days and made it into the water all but 2 of those days due to weather.

Thanks everyone.

Wow, some great pics. What camera did you use?

I picked up a Panasonic TS3 just prior to this trip. It's this years model of the "tough camera" that several manufactures like Olympus, Pentax, and Panasonic have put out in the past. This one was waterproof to 40 feet and the buttons were very easy to use in and out of the water. I didn't have any leak issues or fogging of the external lens (which were common complaints for these types of cameras). Unlike the dicapac waterproof "bag" I had used on past trips, the LCD display was fully visible while in the water on the TS3 so I could check my pictures and make sure the fish/corals were centered. I also ended up with lots of shots of the black lens barrell using the dicapac since the camera I had was too small so upgrading to the TS3 worked out great. I'd highly recommend this camera to anyone not wanting to spend big bucks buying a dedicated waterproof housing for their digital camera.

Thanks everyone. The only place we saw achilles tangs were at Molokini (offshore sunken cinder cone) and they stuck tight to the shoreline. Pictures were hard to take because the surge would throw you around so bad it was hard to keep stable. The achilles seemed to love the crazy current and flow patterns though.

That fish was some sort of toby but I was unable to locate the species when I came back home. Super colorful fish though and usually found in 30+ feet of water from what I saw.

That is a blue spotted box fish a Male to be exact. (Ostracion meleagris)
The females are all black with white spots on the body. Very nice fish and you don't see them too often especially the males!

Thanks Colby!

I only seen 2 of the males however I did see quite a few females now that you mention the color difference. Very neat fish.
