My longnose hawkfish jumped out of the tank when I was feeding the fish about four months ago - I was able to pick him up and get him back into the tank A-OK. Unfortunately, he jumped out of our tank recently from an opening of about 1 inch by two inches - landed on the glass on top of the tank and also under the lights - he's on the crisp side now.
I do recommend these fish - they have character, are active and are good community fish. But they do jump, so I'd say to make sure any openings are covered or aren't left open for too long.
