Can you tell us a little more about the equipment your using. I would be more comfortable about recommending fish/corals knowing a little more about your system.

You are absolutely right. System is very basic. Aquaclear 50 hob filter, 150w heater. 2 korilia nanos. Just under 20lbs live rock. Dose every second day with Kent nano coral treatment and use Reefroids once per week. Fish are feed a variety including mysis, flake and pellet.

Its hard to find a decent 30" T5HO light fixture. They are out there but after you get it you limit yourself to not many suppliers of bulbs. I would probably suggest a MH pendant or a LED pendant that you can hang over the aquarium if possible. Would be suitable upgrades for housing more corals as well.

Looks like you have a good amount of movement with the corals you have but a suggestion that would do well under those lights right now and anything you upgrade to might be a toadstool leather. They are one of my favorites. Oh and lots more zoa's love zoa's.

I would also recommend a goby/pistol shrimp pair for the tank for fish. Possibly a royal gramma for a last addition.

But looks great so far! Keep up that good work

Aquaticlife has a 30" T5 fixture. Uses the 24" bulbs.

I think when it comes down to it. As long as you get the light over the corals, then It does not matter if you have a light shorter then the length of your tank. The user of the light just has to be careful where he/she places corals. Even with the 24" bulbs in the 30" fixture I think that you would not necessarily see dark side but the PAR on the sides would definitely be lower.

TJ id love to check out your tank. As for the lights im looking for something thats not too pricey as I want to upsize to a 70-90g tank within a year. This hobby really grabs you by the you know what. Im very addicted and find the 25 just doesent let me get the range of coral or fish id like to have.

If your already "thinking" about upgrading then I would hold off on dropping a lot of money on any light for the smaller tank simply because you will never get what you put in if you sell, and some of the lights can get pricy.

The only way I'd look at one for the smaller tank then is if you were looking at adding another tank so to speak and planning on keeping the other going...

I sent you a pm with my contact info incase you didn't have it, call me sometime when you want to check it out, just not this week.....
:) darn busy with too many things......
