First off, does anyone have this Cactus algae? Its such a pain in my tank. Do you think that an Emarald crab would eat it? I guess i could try. I've heard mixed reviews on this little guys. Whats yours?

I don't really think my emralds do much but hide and come out occassionally when it's dark. They don't bother anybody in the tank but I haven't really seen them doing any real work around the house if you know what i mean.

Me either. I never see my emerald crabs until I feed the tank, then I sometimes see a claw dart out and grab whatever floats by. There is still alot of algae (micro and macro) in my tank and they don't seem to be making any kind of progress on it. Time for a tang!

Yes I have some cactus algae. No my emerald did not touch it. It's pretty easy to keep under control. I just harvest it off the rocks to keep it under control. It will grow back but just pull some more off. Haven't found anything that will eat it.

The only thing that I ever saw my emerald crab eat was my firefish one night when the lights where off.... I've found the best way to control that kind of algea is to harvest it with your hands.
