How do I move the rock with corals over to the new tank. I figured if I had the two tanks matched in salinity and temperature I could just move pieces over withou having to acclimate them. Has anyone done this before? Any advice?
Thanks,
Dave

I did that a few months ago and didn't experience any problems.

Alternatively, you could also do a "water change" (brackets because it wouldn't be with new water) using a large amount of old tank water to balance out the new aquarium.
Although your method should be okay.

You could try it, I have never done that per say but shouldn't be too much of and issue, try to make sure temp, salinity and ph are all matched though. Probably less stressful doing that that trying to put everything in buckets and what not.
If at all possible use some of the water from the old tank as well.
1. Pick up rock w/ coral.
2. Put in new tank.
3. Adjust angle 50 times or until you're happy. :D
You don't need to acclimate corals or rock. You won't lose anything noticeable or significant on the rock. Maybe a few pods or other crustaceans or sponges, but I doubt that even.
You will need to be the most careful when you move snails, crabs, shrimp, etc.

Thanks for the ideas.
