I got to thinking tonight about C.M.A.S , and in saying that I will miss be able to drive down the block and pick up a few things. I cant tell you how many times I have tried to buy from local venders, the products Rick had, it just isnt there. I have been in the saltwater hobby for 9 months and I heard a lot of criticism about Rick and his business. I know for one its hard to run a business in such a small community. I know Rick has posted some harsh comments, but in saying that, his comments werent directed to everyone out there. Still to this day I support Rick and very happy for all the help Rick gave me and to be able to still call him with a problem I'm having. I know there Reefers out there that feel the same. Darren
I agree with you. I have had a salt water tank for at least 15 yrs . I was very pleased when I heard there was a store in Regina dedicated to the Marine Hobby. My Tank is so much better since I met Rick and I'm sorry he's no longer in business.

Here, here. I too miss the 5 block drive for equip from Rick.
seriously sucks everytime another hobby business disapears.
Its alot nicer to see firsthand the fish i'm gonna buy than the mailorder surprise's.
& the price's would be nicer if there were competition in the city..
but the 3 left know they own the reefers..

I have to agree also, it was so handy to be able to run across the city to pick up a container of chemi-pure without having to ask for lube first. Granted he wasn't always there when I needed, but, I had to remind myself that he had a life outside the shop, and how would I feel about staying home on a long weekend just incase somebody happened to need chemi-pure. I say kudos to him for giving it a shot, which is more than I can say for myself. Just my two cents.

I can't believe you guys. Rick went out of business because the service he promised he did not provide. Shortly after opening his store he stopped carrying corals, then he cut back his hours. He then stopped allowing people to pop in. He then began to insist on internet sales. His attitiude began to decline along with his sales. How can you support somebody who has no respect for anybody or no class?

Every one is intitled to their opinion. There were some things that might have ticked me off but there are things with the other stores that also tick me off. Nobody or no store is perfect. It was still nice to have a good selection of marine stuff right around the corner and I will miss that

Can we stop this. If we keep talking about this its going to cause a rift in our excellent community.
The business is closed. He has said things that shouldn't be forgotten. Lets move on.

I concur. Reguardless of how the business went, it didn't go out with style or class with the remarks that were posted on his site directed at the local community.
It's over, for better or worse, as mentioned previously, everyone is entitled to their opinions and in this case expressing them does nothing positive - the business is not likely to be revived whatever amount of lamenting over it's closure. Best for all parties to move forward with our lives. In this case the past is that, the past and can't be changed.
