They are a cheaper made fixture and the bulbs are not the greatest, but people say they are not too bad if you replace the bulbs

As someone who's gone through 4 different fixtures on a 15G nano, let me speak to my experience:
If you're looking for a T5HO set up, check out the TEK fixtures. You can get a 4 bulb unit without bulbs for under $300 and you can get bulbs for $20-30 each.
I don't know about MH, but my recommendation is that you save up for a good fixture, that way you won't have the itch to upgrade.
If you put some more info about your system we might be able to give you some more help.

I have two Odyssea light fixtures: the 24" 250w MH with 4x moonlights and the 24" 4x24w HO with 2x moonlights. Both have been running since october of 2009. Are they as good as a name brand fixture that costs 3-4x more? No. But I still get good growth out of all my corals and have had no problems with either system. If you are on a budget, I would recommend these fixtures without reservation.
If you are ever in Saskatoon, I would be more than happy to let you look at them.
