Here are some good articles to read. I was forced to do some reading when I found my Alk to be rising over 13dKH while I watched my calcium drop below 350.

ya know, I knew the vinegar+kalk trick, but I always forget to do it :|

If you read the article, it explains that it is more than a trick. It should be considered routine. Without the vinergar most of the calcium is unusable and you'll end up like me. Really high Alk since the drip solution will not be balanced.
