Black substrate

I was thinking about putting the black substrate in my tank. Anyone using it now or have in the past? How did you like it? Would you use it again or not and why?

My son used some for a short while,he took it all out.It did look cool but it showed the detrius and fish poo so easily.

i have it now, it looks really good but is hard to keep clean as everything shows on it

Also the black stuff is not aragonite (no matter what the label likes to tell you). Aragonite is the most reef appropriate substrate.
