People are probably going to jump all over me for this but I prefer VHO's over T5. The color is nicer IMO and but the time you get all the proper reflectors etc. to make them work properly I think VHO would be cheaper to set up. I have seen nice growth with T5 but I don't care for the color.
Just my thoughts. VHO all the way if you don't want the powerbills & heat from Halides.

I my self like vho too. the good thing with icecapp is that you can run both t-5's one day and turn around and use the vho series. As long as you have the endcapps for them.

remember that icecapp with Overdrive the t-5 bulbs too. my next tank will have 3 250's with 2 6' vho bulbs probably go with 6500k iwasaki may be ,longer bulb life too.

but as my mind changes from one to the next i will never know until i have it up and running.

on my 180G I was running 4 250W MH and 4 40W NO Actinic, I have just switched the 40W to 54W HO T5's, and love the difference
