sump cleaner

have 20 gallon sump on 35 galon reef...
question is...little bits of food make it to sump..
what is advisable to put in sump to help clean this..so i dont get rising amonia levels..
shrimp/ snails or a fish???

More floss or mechanical filtration pads and the monthly vacuming of the bare bottom if it a sump but if its a sump/refu get a shrimp.just my opinion

gonna use as refug..... have crushed coral and live rock in it already...
just need to establish it..no algae yet..only weeks old...
so shrimp( coral band or cleaner) ??
