Well, after a long time of procrastination, I finally decided to start the new set-up. Here are a couple pics of the progress so far. The stand is 36" tall. I made it that height so I could get the overflow as high as possible to get the water level in the sump as high as possible (read more water). Down side, the top of my tank is now 5 feet tall, and I ain't Shaq. Whatever, I got a ladder. Carrying on, the stand is 2x4 construction ( premium cut lumber HOME DEPOT, premium cut my arse looks like there was a beaver in the wood pile:huh:) I built 2 boxes 1/4 inch bigger than the footprint of the tank then screwed the upright supports to those. More upright supports for the supports finish the frame. I could park my truck on that. The frame is then skirted with a 3/4" melamine covered board (read fake plywood -freebie) whick was screwed on from the inside. That sucked really bad cause if you put the screws in too deep they take off a big chunk of the melamine. Then the back which is just 1/4" plywood I had layin around. Ummm thats it for tonight. Tomorrow's lesson on how not to build stuff will be a canopy and maybe doors too. :canadaf:
