My moonlights come on an hour before the last set shuts off.And shut off an hour after the first lights come on in the morning.I think it's less of a shock on the fish,to run moonlights.My 2 cents :)

Some people run there lights around there lifestyle,depends when your working,or at home.My first bank of 4 T5's comes on at 9 am,moonlights off at 10am.second bank of 4 on at 12 noon and first set off at 6pm.Moonlight on at 8pm second set of lights off at 9pm.Sleepy fish time :new_sleep

I don't run moonlights, but my T5s run for 10 hours and my MH run for 2 hours on my 33 because it's so shallow my LPS can't handle any more than that. T5s are 10am-8pm, and MH is 2-4pm.

Normally though I run MH for 6 hours, and that's how it will be once the fixture goes on my 90. The timing is going to be all different when I move it out here because I work 2-10pm, and I will want to see the tank with the MH on! So it will prob be T5 8am-6pm and MH 9am-3pm. See how that works.
