I picked up a awesome six foot light fixture the other day. I went with 3- 250watt HQI- 10,000k bulbs and 2-175watt HQi -20,000k. I was thinking of buying a Giesesmann fixture, but with a little research, I pick up a Ocean Light. The Giesesmann is a great light fixture, but also comes with a outragest price. The Ocean Light is supplied by Aqua Medic, but built with German parts. The Ocean Light has to be the best bang for the dollar. It will cost you around 1600.00 but compared to a Giesemann at 1700.00 for 3-250watt HQI. I was going to do a retro fit and a canopy, but the cost would have been more, at sale prices. I think its a class A set-up and I havent seen anything like it in Regina. If your looking for show room set-up I recommend to go this way. If anyone is interested in buying one I would suggest in contacting Wendell at Ocean Aquatics.P.S if I figure out how to down size a picture, I will up load one.

Darren had me over to see his tank this week. I was really impressed with his whole tank, the stand is gorgeous. Never thought I would see a five bulb M/H fixture but it is amazing. Still can't believe how quiet his tank is with all that flow.

Emily, I would never use actinic again for only one reason, I love the shimmer of the 20,000k bulb, I feel I get the same color as the actinic, but still have the shimmer. Dont get me wrong theres nothing wrong with using a actinic light.P.S Thanks for the complement Marcus, I have work hard to get my tank to look so well, not easy.

I bought the new energy saving Metal Halide Bulbs and ballasts suppose to only use the same amount of power my power compacks DID. This should next to free compaired to running 40 tanks, like I used to, LMAO.
