i have wanted a clam for a long time now and just wondering what kind of clam would be good to start off with thanks

What kind of lights do you have? How deep is your tank?

If you're planning on putting a clam under the 96W PC light that you got from me, I probably wouldn't recommend it. There a good article on nano-reef.com about lighting for clams.

its for my bigger tank its 20" deep and am running a 250 watt de mh 2 65 watt pc lights

Wow. How long has the tank been running? As long as it's been about 6 months and you have good calcium levels, I think you can put any clam in there you want. Either Crocea or Maxima. Though, like I said, you can put whatever you want in it.

my big tank has been running for about a year now and i have had no problems with it thanks for the help

As Mikey said you should be able to have what ever clam you wish, good luck, I love my crocea clam and might get some more.
