I made this DIY kalk dripper for dosing kalkwasser. I got the idea from this link: http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-06/nftt/
I just finished it today, this is draft #1 and i used a pepsi bottle as im not done drinking the 2.5 gallon jug of water i planned to use :) . Heres a few pictures of the finished product.
The total cost on this was something like $5 compared to the $30 i was going to spend on a kent version.

That idea works good but if I may give you one little pointer. As time goes on those valves plug up. I used to do that. Other than that small problem it works pretty good!

all i used for my kalk dripper is a rubbermaid container, i think it holds about 4.5 gallons and and I.V. drip from a hospital with the semi-permeable membrane cut out, BAM!! 8 bucks

same, I use an 11L jug with an IV from the hospital.

the only problem i have had with it is today it emptied the entire 4.5 gallon container in about 8 hours, got scared when i came home but everything looks okay so far.....

oops..I guess it's ok if that's how much water is evaporating.. I have mine drip once in about 2 second and it keeps up with the evaporation. takes about 3 days for 11L to go

well my tank evapourates about 1-1.5 gallons a day so i think it was a little bit over kill but my PH has not gone up significantly(spelling?) so i think it wil be okay, i think i will use the back up hose i have just to make sure

I do the exact same thing but use a 2.5g jug. Works perfect, just clean the valve occasionally and you are set.

Nice looking sump, mine looks like a mad scientists, actually my entire tank looks like it was put together for lab use, but hey, the actual tank looks great...
