Changed bulbs in my coralife fixture the other night bought a new 10k bulb to replace the old one. Went to bed and got up to go fishin the next morning. Came home to find only the actinic on (the 10k was test fired and worked great the night before) took the new bulb out and put the old one in, nothing. Thought ok maybe something screwed up my timer, put the new bulb back in, unplugged the fixture and plugged it directly on the outlet, still nothing. Ok, now I'm mad, sunburnt, tired and rammy, grab the new 10k to unplug it and crack, hissssss. Expletive deleted, I managed to blow up one of the ballasts on my fixture and break a BRAND NEW bulb in one simple task. So much for a simple bulb change. Moral of this story is be careful with those PC bulbs they are really fragile.:uzi: :silly:

was it a hamilton bulb? I've had issues with them in the past. in my experience I've been very dis-satisfied with PC bulbs.
Except the spiral ones for my house, they're groovy :D

Mine was a hamilton as well. Kinda glad it happened anyway cause damn that halide really lights up that 33 gallon. I needed to pitch the PC's a looooong time ago.

250 watt Coralvue from SWC bought it a while ago and was just waiting to get the new tank running before I hooked it up.
