No offence at all intended against the Winnipeg team, but they aren't really much competition right now. They are just hitting tough times right now.
It will be interesting to see how the Riders do against the stronger teams in the league. We will know for sure once they play; BC, Edmonton, Montreal, whether or not they can outplay a strong team.
You have to give credit to the riders front office for putting and keeping this team together. Say what you will about Roy Schivers and Danny Barrett, but we've been in the playoffs I think every year since they've been here.

Both teams stunk, but I guess we stunk a little less. We aren't going to win against better teams if all we come away with is 9 out of 45 possible points. Next week against Toronto will be interesting.

The scoreboard at the end of the game sure didn't tell the story of how that game unfolded. The Riders completely dominated for about 95% of the game, but just couldn't put up any points. That's pretty scary considering all the opportunities we had. On the bright side they almost completely shut down last season's leading rusher, that and our defensive backs looked like the intended receivers in a lot of Danny Mac's passing attempts.
What the scoreboard did show were two tipped balls resulting in one interception for a touchdown, and one touchdown (that one should have been a no brains interception)that gave Hamilton 14 points, but I guess that's luck for you. That's why you have to love the game.
I still can't figure out why Danny Barrett didn't let McCallum kick for a field goal near the end of the game, instead trying to punch it in from 2 yards out. In my opinion, missed attempts by McCallum or not, that was a dumb, dumb move.

I agree with you thordarj, Danny should of went for the three points at that stage of the game, its a no brainer. If Paul cant make the field goals, fine then maybe its time to look at our kicker. (replacement) the big question is who? I can see Paul is stress out after throwing the football tee away, the snap wasnt the best, but hes a pro and should be able to ajust. In the CFL 3 points means a lot.

Hey guys, 2 & 0 is better than our 0 & 2. :Cuss: No matter how you get there. Like we say in bowling, looks good on paper. :)
