Well as the situation continues... the puffer is active and is eating but i noticed that the eyes look cloudy.. not sure what cloudy eye looks like... but am in the midst of putting puffer in quarantine. The eyes look like they have little bubbles in them... anyone know of a good site to do diagnosis for fish diseases.
I did some looking on the net to see what I could find. I know what cloudy eye is and that it is a pariste. so off to the store to get drugs for the poor fish.
If some one can give a discription of cloudy eye looks like that would be great.
Thanks
Howard

If it is ich then what is my best coarse of action. Just reading about it is kind of interesting.
Since this is a puffer how am to do a fresh water dip if that is nescessay. They have a habbit of puffing up when outside of water or stressed.
Any advice??

Just figured I would give an update on the puffer situation... I am sorry to say that the problem has come to an unfortunate end. After just about making a complete recovery from eye cloud it seemed to relapse right before I was going to put it back in the main tank. I started treatment for it again but this time the meds had no effect and it died today.
Well the only good thing is that all my other fish seem to be dong great and that the puffer is no onger suffering.
I guess its time to clean out the QT/HT and put it in storage. I hope I will never have to use it as a HT again or any tie soon....

FYI puffer eyes often get cloudy from rubbing against the glass when they swim. My puffer constantly scratched his eyes against the glass. Also in a QT tank the water gets extremely bad fast so usually that is how the fish dies. It is good to be reacting when you fish are sick but sometimes you can do too much. When my fish get a little "cold" ie ich or cloud eye, I make sure the tank is in good shape. If it is, it is likely the other fish will be fine and it is not an outbreak. I then ensure the fish is being properly fed with limited stress. I'll feed good quality food with garlic too. If the condition is worsening then I'll remove the fish. It is my experience that too much medicine and moving of the fish stress them out and lower the survival chances.

I agree ive never takin a fish out to treat it it causes too much stress i also have just maintained the water quality in the main tank and 90% of the fish have overcome thier illness
