Might you be interested in offering some time and effort in helping create a `show stopping' 1200 gallon set-up for a Regina non-profit group?

Things are in the preliminary stage right now, but there wouldn't be a need to go much further if there weren't at least 20 people from this site who could lend minds and hands to the project.

Imagine a tank which will be known across Canada - think about helping to create something that is awe inspiring and that will be here long after you are gone.

I think, at this stage, that we are just looking for interest ... when we are out of the preliminaries, we would be asking for committment. So, maybe the better question would be, `who might be interested in helping with a Saskatchewan reef project?'

oh oh oh! Can I do the plumbing or the lighting?

A 1200gal tank might benifit from being in a place that gets a good blast of natural sunlight. There's nothing cheaper and better than sunlight for a reef tank.

That is very good input - exactly the kind of thing that should come ` to light' during preliminaries! So, the tank set-up should be away from the basement and perhaps near some windows.

At this point, all I know about dimensions is that the tank will be in an L shape.

Large tank forum on Reef Central would be a great place for early planning. You can follow other large builds and get info on how they are plumbed right down to build and operating costs. I'm sure a tank of this size would require many hours of planning. Would be interesting to hear more about this tank.

Is this for that rich guy you mentioned on the Salt Water tour that wants a salt tank but doesn't know the first thing about it?

No, the fellow mentioned on the tour is going with a 400 gallon tank in his home in Wascana View - he may need some help also, although he is a pretty thorough and capable kind of person.
