anyone know anything about lions?

So about a month and a half ago i picked up a small volitan.for the first two weeks no problems,although i was feeding him live fish because he was not interested in frozen.The third week i noticed my adult emperor angel had some dark sections on his body but was eating fine.Two days later he was dead.The morning after that i found my lion dead stuck to my powerhead.Pretty heartbreaking.My question is,was the angel stung and why would have the lion died?thinking of getting a larger lion,but am concerned about my purple tang and hippo.Anyone have any advice? everything ive read says that lions are not interested in any fish that cannot fit into their mouth.they are in a 90 gallon tank.

my dwarf lion took a year to train off of live feeders and rhen about a year later stopped eating & croaked for no apparent reason.
