If your protein skimmer isn't skimming...it gets ugly...

I had the worst water in my tank last week...skimmer obviously wasn't skimming...huge oily ORANGE film on the tank...I kept sticking paper towels in a net and manually skimming the surface...

Took as much of the tank apart as I could...scratched my knuckles up...good thing I had no sharks in the tank...I noticed I was bleeding when I noticed the red stuff in the water...

And I finally figured it out!!!

Somehow the air intake line had crimped...so of course the skimmer couldn't work...*duh*

All that stress and blood...for what should have been such a simple fix...

But now I know exactly what a skimmer skims! :appl:

LOL...yeah...and I also learned that my RSM protein skimmer actually DOES work (when it gets air)...despite rumours to the contrary...
