cleaner shrimp

well last week ago my fish had to be put in quaratine because they had some ick and black ick. Some didnt make it I lost my 3 yellow tails,1 blue chromis, 1 clown fish, and my lawnmower blenny:boohoo: . I also had a fireworm problem and my coral banded shrimp took care of that:Clapping: . I am wondering since I have a yellow eyed tang in there should I get a couple of cleaner shrimp? I will get rid of the cbs first before I got any and before my tang got sick he seemed to always follow the cbs around and nudge at it. I think the tang thought it was a cleaner shrimp and was trying to get the shrimp to clean it but instead it got a nip on the nose by the shrimps claws:roflmao: . So would it be a good idea to get a pair of cleaner shrimp for the tang.

I'm a strong beleiver in cleaner shrimp and cleaner wrasses. Cleaner wrasses do need a certain amount of other fish in the tank to keep them alive. Do you have a u.v. filter. I have cleaner shrimp in all my tanks. Tangs are known as ich magnets. grab a couple of shrimp the first chance you get, they will help.

Yes, for sure - get cleaner shrimp! They are loads of fun - mine all jump on my hand the minute I go into the tank and clean me! Good for the fish, too!

I saw some cleaners at cowtown but first I want to get the coral banded shrimp out first. Would pats pets or another fish store take it off me I really dont want to kill it because it killed those fireworms that came off my lr and I want to make sure it gets a good home.

Any store will take it but won't give you much or nothing for it. By fireworms are you talking about bristleworms. Bristleworms are very beneficial as long as they don't get out of control. Its not to easy to tell the difference between the two, but the main difference is the size. fireworms get to be 12 in. and the bristles are alot closer together.
