I have been battling slightly high nitrates and am thinking about setting up some sort of nitrate filter. What are your pro's and cons on using, Lsm in the second chamber of my reactor? Or zeovit? Or I could also build a dentrifirer. Thanks Chester

That's why I built my reactor. Problem is it can take months (up to 6) for the reactor to really start working, plus this reactor is not big enough for my tank & they can be touchy to get flow right. It started out as a project but then my trates started to clime so I wanted something that would take less time.

Steve suggested I try Zeovit (wanted to anyway) he said its probably the the best way to go & not harmful like sulpher & other types of dentrifirers, plus Steve knows what hes talking about!!!

HTH

Coil dentrifirer's can be dangerous as well if the flow is not right.

I have some links to dentrifirer topics if you want, Ill have to look for them. I cant seem to locate them for some reason!

I have looked at differant optoins and know I can build a dentrifier if I think it will be a benifet. I was also looking at zeovit products and just got overwelmed with the amount of stuff. It seamed like I needed to add this and add that but not too much of this. oh but feed this. etc, etc. etc. Therefore I stopped researching it. I have also heard of zeovit stripping your corals. If I can ever figure out what to add and what not to add, then how do you know how much would be too much.

I know there are a ton of stuff you can use with Zeo but to start with you just need 3 additives, the reactor & media & then go from there.
I'm just staring to use it so I'm no expert but I'm really happy with the outcome so far & its only day 6! Zeo is not a overnight cure neither but all good things take time.
Steve can give you way more info on Zeovit. The Zeo guide is really clear & very helpful, it leaves little room for error they also have a great website.
I know there are more people who use it around here so I'm sure they all can offer advice. I know Colby has used it as well & said he's going to start again.
Heres there website www.zeovit.com (http://www.zeovit.com)
