well i have to get a waterline from my manifold to the new tank and was wondering if it would make a difference if i t'd into the skimmer line instead or would it take away too much pressure

could you discribe your manifold for me:

Main manifold pipe diameter (from pump)
Type of pump
number of lines coming out of the manifold and their diameter
approximate amount of head pressure on each line.

Jay I think that monster beckett skimmer you have running on your system needs all the pressure it can get. I'm sure if you T'd off of your line between the pump and the skimmer, your beckett injector would not pull nearly the same amount of air into the skimmer due to most of the back pressure generated from the injector now being directed out of your T to the line going to the new tank. You could do this but I'm sure that the effectivness of the skimmer would decrease drastically.

depending on the pipe sizes and head pressure in the lines, it may not make a difference whether you tee of the skimmer line or add a new output off the manifold. If the pump is already pumping close to maximum head pressure adding a new line will drop the pressure in the skimmer regardless. If not and if the pipe feeding the skimmer is large enough you could tee into the skimmer line adding another valve and then opening the skimmer feed line more allowing for the extra pressure requirement. However if the line is not large enough it may not be able to supply both.
