Picked up a few snails yesterday to start the clean up crew. Woohoo. Not that this is too exciting or anything - but it beats looking at rocks for any sign of life, other than the rather depressing increase of hair algae.
After acclimating as per Colby's instructions - I set them in various spots in the tank - foot side down of course. There is so much for them to do.....and they all went right to to work....immediately started to chow down. I found myself becoming my ukrainian grandmother...."eat, eat, EAT - you poor hungry little things!"
Found another hitchhiker coral on the rock. Not sure what it is - but it looks to be some sort of softie and has a flourescent pink tip. It is on the bottom edge of a rock, and am unsure if I should move the rock so coral gets more light or leave as is???
If this group survives the next few days, then I'll pick up more of the crew. Starting slowly because am unsure of tanks stability at this stage.
