Ok....I am pulling my hair out!
My tank is incredible and everything looks awesome.....EXCEPT  my little visitors. I have treated my tank 3 times with Flatworm exit and the last 2 times I used the entire bottle at once to get them. They have come back everytime and it is driving me crazy. I have my fingers crossed right now with the hope that the most recent treatment has been successful. One thing I did different this go around was leave my carbon out for a full 24hrs. I lost a few snails and my Xenia is very unhappy but with the toxins they release when they die it was to be expected, I felt higher toxin concentrations were a tradeoff with leaving the treatment in the water longer. Anyone else have any ideas to get these buggers? I have heard that six line wrasses eat them but also eat pods and I don't want too much food competition for my mandarin.
Have a great day everyone

Are they the red ones or the white ones? If they are the white ones they do no harm. They should eventually go away, mine did. They red ones are nasty and reproduce quickly. Multiple treatments of flatworm exit only allows them to build up an immunity to it from what I have read. There are some flatworm eating nudi's available. I had LOTS of white flatworms way back but they eventually died off and now I can't find any.

Nope....they are the evil red ones. I swear I'm gonna cry over this, spend all this money to have a little monster ruin it for me:BangHead:

So what is in your homemade mixture. I know someone who is having the same problem and would be interested.

Rentaltux, I dont personaly make it myself. How large is your freinds tank? I can look into getting some for him. I know last time I got some for another member it was $10.00 (treats) 300 gallons. I will also find out how much Chris needs as well. Darren.

Hi Darren. That amount treats 100 gals. I have flat worms in my reef tank. I've done two treatments with flatworm exit not the home made remedy, the last one was really 3 treatments in 24 hrs. A few still survived. Do not waste your money on flatworm exit, no one I know has had any success with it. I also have a manderine, six line wrasse, yellow wrasse, and a green wrasse, which are all suppose to eat flat worms. I've never seen any of them eat a one. I've been syphoning them out when I see them and so far have not come back like before. I don't want to use the homemade mixture until I have a heavy infestation again. Flatworms are really only a problem when they multiply like crazy. They will complety cover corals so no light penetrates to the coral. Everything I've read says that they usually die off sooner or later. Mine are dying off later. If any one tries this mixture before I do,please let the rest of us know if it works.

It is a very good idea to dip every coral that is introduced into your tank! There are alot more things out there than just flatworms that can kill a tank!

Thank-you, I will see how they come back after this last go round. I have heard about the sixline wrasse and recently the arrow crab to combat these pests? Any comments?

I had a six line wrasse at one point to combat a bristle worm problem, he always seemed full (huge pot belly on him). I did notice the bristle wrom population went down as well. They didn't dissapear though.
Arrow crabs are in my experience very good at one thing, getting eaten. Some may have had better luck with them but mine would always find a way to get devoured. Whether it was hermit crabs or some bored fish. That's why I went to the Six Line Wrasse. Plus the Wrasse is not nearly as "creepy" looking.
