I have a bi-color blenny in a Q-tank. He only gets flake food but I can see lots get sucked up the aquaclear and some just get blown around until they disintegrate. So what are the effects of to much food waste?

High nitrates and possibly ammonia

u should not even have to feed a bi color blennie, as they will usally find enough algae to eat in the tank on their own. So i would feed it very sparely, and make sure he is actually eating the food if not keep an eye on him to make sure he is eating off the glass or rocks.

I don't think there is enough algae in the q-tank for him.

Try to feed a very small amount, about the size of his eye. Or try clipping a small amount of dryed seaweed in the tank for 1/2 hour and then pull out the uneaten piece.
