Hey everyone, Im kinda new to the reef and saltwater aquariums (i've been running a 35 gal for a few months now, few clowns, a coral, ect), and im in school taking Electronic Systems Engineering. This semester i built an aquarium controller, measures pH, controlls the temperature, and has a top off system for keeping salinity in check, as well as working the lights. My prototype is working quite well, but im looking to do more with it.
I want it to do water changes as well, filling a tank and adding salt, aqua plus, ect and heating it till it matches aquarium temperature then doing the water change. Right now im just looking for some opinions on what it should do, and the sky's the limit. Dosing pumps, lights, temp control, ect. Let me know of some ideas, such as feeding button- that turns off water pumps for x period of time, ect. Any Help would be great!:help:

oh boy do I have a list of ideas for you.. I should still be in engineering..I'm missing out on the fun... :( mind you, if I didn't quit engineering, I wouldn't have gotten a job at pc, and wouldn't have a reef tank, so it wouldn't make a difference anyways...maybe it's time to go back for engineering.

still measuring the pH with tinfoil?

for the time being, yes, still measureing pH with the tinfoil and copper wire(pH probe from ebay was DOA :icon_cry:). not taking orders yet, waiting for more ideas, then a prototype needs to be built, then i can get a professional printed circuit board made. hopefully by the end of summer :fish2:
