1 20w Coralite 50/50 (1 10000K, 1 Atinic), and 2 of the 15 W Philips mini compacts (6500K)

I have a 10w Coralite 50/50 that I think I might switch in for one of the Philips bulbs to get a bit more blue.

Looks like I'm gonna need to add a fan, the lights increase my water temp about 1.8 degrees in the first 15 min of being on, which is not ideal for stability. But I guess on benifit with the fan is I should'nt need a lense, so princess auto here I come.

So basically you never wanna seriously test fit things. I should have just made sure the canopy fit then took it off. Now it seems like so much work to unplug everything, take the fans of and paint this sucker. Who likes the mdf look, ahaha

Hope you sealed your mdf or at least have a glass top on your tank. If you allow moisture to get to the MDF its going to swell up like a used sponge.

I'd say paint it. MDF swells.
PS: Boo to MDF swelling
