Right now I am using a quietones 6000 at about 8' head height so I am getting around ~1000gph. My tank is a 85 gallon with a 40 gallon sump.

I find it quite sufficient and I have all LPS and mushrooms. I control the flow with some Locline I got from Colby at Bayside Corals. I also tossed in a quietones 800 lower in the tank just for some in tank circ. that goes in the opposite direction of the main circ. I get a nice sway in the tank for all my critters and I take the quietones 800 every once and a while and aim it into the rocks and flush out any junk that has settled in the crevaces.

Cheers

I like having as much flow as your tank and sump design will allow.
I run 700gph after loss from my sump
I run a 950gph closed loop
Seio 620gph and Seio820gph.
I am currently on the market for 2 new Seio1500s to replace my current ph setup.
The softies often don't like that much flow but the tank looks soo much better and healthy that way. Plus the sps love it.
