So I'm pretty happy with how my skimmer has been performing... but anyone know if it could be removing to many nutrients? None of my stuff is doing toooo great, or could it be cause the tank has only been up for less then a month?

Much debate on that. Some will say you can over skim and others jump for joy because they are skimming 10 gallons a day.:monster: If you don't have much in the way of fish in the tank, then i would say you may be over skimming.

Only 1 very small golby, inverts, and corals. Thats about 1-1 1/2 weeks of skimate

IMO, overskimming. Try a couple of weeks with no or reduced skimming and see if the corals perk up. Do a water change to get some of the trace elements back in the water, unless you add these.

Yeah I add some, and do 10% water changes once a month

Try cutting back or not using it at all and see what happens. Just keep an eye on everything and if things look worse go back to skimming.

If you have live rock and are doing weekly or biweekly water changes you should not have a problem with ammonia, unless your feeding an elephant.
