I also have red algae in my tank I got a lawnmower blenny they eat red algae and other types of algae also. I am kinda new to saltwater tanks also this is just a suggestion you may also do a water change every week to keep it from coming back.

Is it slimey red algea or leafy algea?Red slime algea is notoriously hard to get rid of.Limit nutrients, more waterchanges with good water,i had success in the past with a product called red slime remover.this is a reef safe product that is commonly used.

As far as I know lawn mowers do not eat red algea. And yes we all have problems with algea now and then, but especially when the tank is in it's first year. If its not red slime its hair algea or some other type. I've also used the Ultra slime remover and it worked great.
