Just got back from Brooks today and on the way home I stopped at Animal World in Medicine Hat. Nice place and some very cool stuff to look at. Picked myself up a huge green and red open brain and a a big toastool leather. 55 bucks a piece and the toadstool is almost as big as a dinner plate. Nothing small in this shops tank though every coral he had was bigger than a softball. Will post some picks as soon as I recharge the batteries in the camera.:2-cheers:

Ya as long as he's got lots in stock it would be worthwhile for 3 or 4 to go in on that. I have the number for there just in case. It's just too bad Calgary wasn't that close. Either that or we need a pilot in the reef club. Now that would be convenient. :icon_smil

I'm bored. A couple more pics. The finger leather I got from Pat's a couple weeks ago. Does anybody know if these things put out sweeper tentacles?

No sweepers just polyps. Some soft corals release toxins that hard corals don't like. It helps to run carbon when mixing the two.

Dang, I've been through Medicine Hat a few times in the last months - wouldn't have thought about looking for or visiting a salt store. Thanks for the info, Scott.

Turns out I have some sort of critter living either on my leather or in it that is releasing these tentacles. Sessile Ctenophore of some sort. I sent Wet Web Media an e-mail but haven't heard from them yet. I think thats why it's not extending it's polyps but can't be 100%. The leather has a friday appointment with a bucket of freshwater unless I hear a better way before then. It's neat watching the tentacles but I like the leather better.

I see a dinosaur head with alien tentacles. Are you sure you don't have some undiscovered saltwater monster, scotchy?

I have bought alot from Animal World. Rob is a smart guy and has great livestock. He gets orders in every week so there is always something new. His reef tank is huge and that center overflow is just plain cool. Make sure you stop in if you can.
