Anyone dip thier new Corals? I have ordered some Zoo's that I would like to dip before putting in the tank. I did read a article about fresh water with two drops of Iodine with proper temp and PH. Whats the easiest way to set PH with a hagen test kit?
Thanks
Marcus

I do if its a hardy coral. It seems to work really good. Especially for mushrooms and polyps. Its crazy to see how much stuff comes off. Make sure the temp is the same and the ph is the same. Just use a buffer to bring ph up. I usually dip the coral for about 20sec and shake it around gently then place it in the tank.
Successful i've done it to, star polyps, button polyps, cabbage coral, colt coral, many mushrooms. I'd be a little more scared to do it to LPS's though.
I also do it to fish but I dip them a little longer but it also depends on how stressed they look
Hope that helps

I Treat every coral that goes into my system.....I use the zoo dip that Farmer John posted for zoo's. I Use flatworm exit and iodine for LPS,mushrooms and other softies.....I use interceptor and FWE for SPS. I have never lost a coral due to these treatments.

This is why I am not afraid to put any corals that I get from you in my tank.
