hey my first culture just fineshed today here are a few pics from along the way
, i was suprised to see how dark i got it, its almost a green black:dckix:

day 6 and heres today the greenest is the oldest the others are younger batches

so im testign it out on my 10 gal reef to see if it used up all the fertilizer, i think it shud have i only used 2 ml, ill have soem extra ready soon, so if anyoen wants soem just gimme a shout, maybe a trade for a frag, or free, tis just water

Not sure Jody, but from the pictures it looks like you have 3 good bottles and 1 bad one. The dark green/black looks really black, I've never seen live phyto that color before, and I order from ReefCrew.com and they always have Max possible density. I would be a little concerned that that bottle got contaminated with something.

The other stuff looks really good though :licklips:

the last one looks so black just beause there is no light shinign though it and its in a darker room, also it smells fien " no bad oder "

You should see my man STONES Phyto it's dark like that "blackISH" one and It's making my tank go nuts!Using it for over half a year.

yeah im 99% sure mynes good, my tank is doing fine and my pods blew up over night

Well, I think I'll look into this. I know phyto shouldn't be black. I bet you guys aren't using an air filter for the air you're pushing through your phyto culture. There are many thing that can contaminate phyto, some use up the phyto quickly and and the bottle turns clear and somethimes whatever got in there grows and you get a strange color, ask skewch about her yellow phyto.
