Does Anyone Know where a person could buy sand that could be used in a salt water aquarium for cheap? like aragonite sand or something similar that would work?

Im not sure if you mean from someone here but i know that both petland and world of pets carry aragonite. I got i think 30lb for somewhere around 40-45$ i believe. Its quite nice too.

World of Pets always seems to have a good varity of aragonite. You won't find anything too cheap from retail in the city here, you could see what shipping is like from J&L or something similar.

Hello...from my web page www.prairiereefsupplies.ca,
CaribSea Inc. (http://www.carib-sea.com/)
Aragamax Sugar Sized Sand
30 lb. bag $32.50
Aragamax Select
30 lb. bag $37.50
have shipped by greyhound with no problems, usually $10 - $12 per bag, just a FYI if you can't find it there.

Do not use silica sand in a saltwater tank, it contains high soluble phosphate, and it's too fine and will create anaerobic zones.

PetSmart sells the smaller bags of Caribsea, the 15lb bags.
