Hello everyone,
My tank is leaking just under the black border(The water comes from underneath the black border). It's been doing this for awhile now. It's not a fast trickle or anything but it still makes me worry. I'm not 100% sure of the cause since it's such a small leak that it's hard to 'trace it'. There is also saltcreep coming up from under the bottom black border, but this could just be from the water that is leaking down the side and then maybe travelling around near the bottom, I'm not sure.

Is the top black border supposed to be able to come off? Or should it be siliconed to the glass? Or maybe the corner silicon is 'wearing out' - is that possible? Also, anyone else get saltcreep at the bottom of their tank?

Anyways, it's not a big deal but it's a little annoying. Thanks,
-Dave

I was having the same problem, but it was because my water level was too high due to the overflow box being made too tall. The border will be silconed to the glass, but it would not have been done so to stop water, just to hold it on. It should come off fairly easily, silicone does not stick to plastic very well, then you could reseal it better. However I think the better solution would be to lower you water level if possible, the water is obviously making it's way over the glass.

Ok thanks, yeah I think it's just my water level. I keep it touching the 'lip' of the black border so that's probably too high.

The lip on the black border that holds the glass top I mean.
