Anyone own one of these? I'm looking at possibly buying one and would like to know any opinions on them. Can you use an ozonizer on them? Thanks for any help in advance.

If its the beckett Jayson makes sure that you can run Ozone just let him know tha you are thinking of running Ozone and he will steer you in the right direction. His skimmers are really good too.

Also check out PRS's line of skimmers, not to steer business away - but super competitive prices with same feature set. www.prairiereefsupplies.ca (http://www.prairiereefsupplies.ca) - got mine being built as we speak!

I believe that skimmer in question is a needle wheel skimmer. PRS kick @ss as far as beckett skimmers go, mine performs very well and never had an ounce of troub le from it

I've personal seen a couple PRS skimmers, in action, They are built like a rock, and in the 2 I saw the skimmate was black. Way blacker then my Aqua Medic Shorty skimmer (Needle wheel) ever put out.

Can the prs skimmers be used inline?I'm looking for an inline skimmer cause I want to use it on my 90gal without a sump till I get my 220 gal system later this summer.

Hey Kent,

The Beckett Skimmers we make; http://www.prairiereefsupplies.ca/index.php?id=52
are designed to be run in or out of a sump, I'm not sure even with some creative plumbing how you could effectivly use it in line, due to the micro bubbles that are normally found in the return water from a beckett skimmer. They are ozone safe though, as I use ozone on mine.
