Ok, so im new to the whole salt water thing
I'm running a 55 gallon tank
Im not to familiar with the idea of sumps, but i've been reading alot into the benefit behind them, and i like it
So. Should i just go out and buy and sump?
Is there anyone on here that would make me a small one say 10-15 gallons
how much is the cost difference, and do i need to drill my tank, because the glass is tempered glass and its says right on the sticker do not drill.
Can you get around that?
I'd love to enlist someones services so drop me an email

I also found sumps very confusing. I currently have a 55 gallon tank as well and was/am concidering a sump. Drilling your tank is not an option since it's tempered, but you can get someone to make an overflow that hooks onto the back of your tank (sphelps does these kinds of jobs all the time for people on here). Basically the back of your tank is altered to have 'teeth' that would allow water to drain into an overflow box on the back of your tank that would lead into your sump.

There is also the option of a hang on overflow but I've heard that they can be a bit finicky.

Basically the only reason I haven't bought one yet is because I want to avoid spending more money on this hobby for something that I don't 'need' but that would be nice to have.

I highly recommend you get a sump if you can afford them. They're relatively cheap, the return pump/overflow solution would probably be the most costly part.
