snails?? star fish help

i just got back from a 1 week vacation, and my tank was regularly fed and taken care of, but my tank smells horrile, my star fish was sucked into my power head, and i have 100's of little clearish " outside" white centerd eggs or lilttle snail shaped looking things all over my aquarium. i have put 100 snails in about a week agoe. and my refugium is coverd in a white film, and aalmost all my macro is white " dead looking".
any help for me

Sounds like all those snales you put in there must have started to breed....:BangHead: Might be a time consuming job trying to remove them all...That dead star must have changed the water spec.'s as well.

test your water, should be easy to tell if thats the case
