It's hard to say what the problem is with out water spec.'s.....Off the topp of my head I'd go check the temp.,ph,salinity.,For starters...after that you should have some sort of idea..:icon_winkAlso what are your lighting spec's...where do you have you brain placed?top or the rocks ,middle of the rocks, or SB.do you spot feed it?

The colour still being there is a good thing - maybe review where the brain is in your tank, what the waterflow is, anything else bugging the brain? I've had a hard time feeding brains - turkey baster doesn't work that well - I've found that using a pipette and dropping food right onto the brain has worked best.
Brains and bubble corals remind me of taking care of the gums in one's mouth - you have to eat right, drink right, brush right and floss right ... then you never see any receding of tissue.
Brains should be fed weekly or more often from what I've read - I've used Zoplan from Two Fishes and have also used meaty items since that's what others have recommended.

I got a open brain from reefgreef a little while ago and it only had a few specks of color. lots of skeleton showing and very little to no flesh on it, it got that way by a bicolor blenny picking on it, i agree with stinga we need more details
