Hi

I won't be ready yet for a little while, but what do you guy's suggest i should go with for fill my 230g with rock, right now i think i want a combo of hatian and tonga, but im not sure. what's hot these day's, and what is not. Also im thinking of stocking it in two steps, around 100 pound's at a time, what are your guy's idea's.

The Fiji rock I got for my tank from JL Aquatics was awesome. Lots of coralline algae, nice and porous with great shapes. I have found tube worms, great macroalgae and even a polyathoa polyp.
Here are two great pieces from my tank, they are about 2 months old now.

Hi there

That is nice rock, i think i will get some of the fijji as well. This is probably a dumb question, but what is, Encrusted Gorgonian, it is selling for $15.00 a pound in a section of other types of rock, but no picture, also what do you guy's rate as the top rock and why between these. Keep in mind my main thoughts are for quality and life forms, as well i think large pieces for the bottom, then small flat pieces for making shelving.

The rock I got from JL's was a great assortment of sizes. That first picture I posted is probably 9 inches tall and 8 inches deep weighing probably 15lbs. How big is your tank? I would guess that 1lb per gallon would be a good start for your LR. Don't forget that base rock is worth looking into, use those pieces to build up your structure and mix your LR throughout. Get your DSB going, add your base rock and LR, then sit back and let it cycle:Zzz:
