today i did routine maintenance on my 6 month old tank,i only have 2 percula clowns right now,,all is well ,,water ect.
when i cleaned the sand a bit today i noticed 4-5 little green/see through balls,,about 1/8 inch in dia. they may have come with some coral i bought? what could they be?

Sounds like bubble algae,get rid of them and don't pop them in your tank !!

If so, considered nuisance algae. Emerald crabs are suppose to be good at eating this sorta thing. Nothing to worry about now, but get rid of them before they get outta hand.

You might find it handy to have the following on hand when getting rid of the bubble algae -a turkey baster or to have the vacuum tube you use for doing water changes. Use either to grab some of the bubble algae once you've loosened it and it goes to float away.

i got rid of the few i spotted on the sand,,turns out theres a few more on a piece of coral. now what?do i need to get rid of it all,,it looks cool.will it hurt my fish?

No algae won't hurt your fish :) but that stuff can spread, and i seen a pic of one that was the size of a golf ball :icon_eek:

I think emerald crabs are supposed to eat that stuff too, better ask the question to everyone though. I know something eats them though...

Mine didn't touch the stuff. But thats just my experiance.
