This would mostly be directed to Adie....
How much does your light canopy weigh, I am half done building my canopy which the Coralife fixture will be sitting in and I am wondering how Heavy it is. I need to know if I need to add any further reinforcements. The frame is 1x2 which is air-nailed and glued. It will be sheeted in 1/2" birch which will further tighten up the structure.
Thanks to anyone who has this info.

BTW this is the light that has 2 96w PC actinics and 2 150w 10k MH and 3 lunar leds. Looks like a great fixture, any input on its quality?

What steps are you taking to make sure that your light canopy does not rot.

The outside of the canopy is stained and coated with a polyurethane sealer. The interior of the canopy will be primed and painted with an exterior acylic water resistant paint and will be white for maximum reflectivity for the lights. I currently run an MDF canopy on my 48 and didn't seal the wood half as good as my new one and have never had any problems. The wood will not be wet, humididty is our only real concern here.
