I am building a big tank and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with equipment that is adequate for a tank about 500g in size...

I have a few pictures of the tank stand for this baby. Care if I post them Glen?
Sure, the dimensions of the stand is as follows...96 inches long, 48 inches deep and 24 inches tall....tank will be the same unless I go 30 inches tall...I gotta get the plumber in so i can start doing this thing...
I just found my old thread...The height of the tank is 36 inches tall...

Looking sweet! I'd be real interested in coming for a tour once you get it purring. I want to get the same tank but only 6'x4'x30" tall. PM me if you don't mind.

was the tank assembled on site? if so that is nuts. but I guess on the other hand how the hell would you get it in. Now on tanks that big do you have to like reinforce the concrete or what? like how much can a regular basement hold?

Yah I agree with sphelps...I remember seeing these pictures quite awhile ago also...you have more recent pictures of it all running?

Yes, built on site...The guys who moved the glass in broke on of the pieces...Glad it was them and not me...
Didnt reinforce the floor as I didnt think I would do such a project at the time...I believe my floor is about 4 inches with regular rebar...I saw on reefcentral a guy had 6 inch pour with thicker rebar...But his tank was 1600g.

the latest 10 pics are new....I only took them within the last few months and the tank has been running in the dark for 45 of the last 48 days as I was curing my rock...I have a custodean shipment along with some inverts and a few clowns to get the bio moving...It will be here first thing tomorrow morning...
