Should I be concerned (which I am highly right now) about my White-faced Tang being smothered in Ich? I performed a freshwater dip but it didn't do a lot. I am treating with Kick-Ich which many people say is a joke. My QT tank is stocked with my infected Coral Beauty and so I can't quarantine him. Any suggestions? How long til' my lil' ich buddies jump off and possibly Kick-Ich can do what the name says? It's been a few days but seems like they are increasing instead of diminishing.....
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you use double the concentration that it says on the bottle . It has worked for me twice now.

:but: Why aren't people using Garlic on their spirlina flake food or on their Nori clips. That is what i use all the time. When i see ick....
Buy the garlic pill the gel ones and cut them open and take the juice and mix it in with the flakes and serve to the tangs. The ywill eat it up I promise. Mine do...:appl:
Remember it will make your skimmer die down G
arlic takes the bubble s out of the water so the skimmer will not work...

I've been protecting my other fish using garlic dipped foods but now it looks like my clownfish also has ich, and my mimic tang.
I was recommended these options by another fellow reefer:
1. Move all invetebrates to another tank - SPS, softies, snails and crabs - treat main tank w/ copper treatment then use a heavy metal absorbing sponge to take out copper and slowly reintroduce invetebrates. He did this and recommmends this approach to ensure no more ich.
2. Remove all my fish to another tank and treat seperately - using copper treatment- but I have a Coral Beauty who is sensitive to copper and will keep in 10GL quarantine tank.
What I'm thinking:
I could setup my 30 gallon at home to a SW. I was gonna do a FW but have been wrestling with the thought of doing a SW anyways. However, I don't have decent lighting on that tank for corals, so I figure that I'd move my fish to the 30 gallon for month or so and fallow this tank of ick, keeping my corals and live rock in the "Ich tank". However, I gotta move fast cause my Whiteface Tang isn't doing too well right now. It's covered in ich.
My question: Do you think I'd be ok setting up a 30gallon in the next few days as a hospital tank and perhaps adding some other live rock pieces that I have (in a 4th seperate tank- cured already) to it for sheltering 9 fish. Any foreseeable risks with this setup? I would not have substrate either for now.
Thoughts, feedback, HELP!?!? :icon_neut

You could set up a hospital tank with no live rock and treat with copper . Take ALL your fish out of the main tank and leave it fishless for at least 6 weeks . This will do two things.
1) The copper will take care of the ich on your fish and not hurt anything else.
2) By leaving the tank fishless for 6 weeks, the ich will not have anything to feed on and will die out naturally, leaving your tank safe to reintroduce your fish.
Just my two cents.
